Established in 1991, the Electrical Training Company Ltd. (ETCo), is an innovative concept in the training of apprentices for industry.

Owned by the Electrical Industry, ETCo trades as an independent, self funding company producing tradespeople of the highest quality.

ETCo employs a pool of enthusiastic apprentices who are available by secondment to industry for on-job experience. By using a group training scheme, ETCo overcomes the problems which companies experience in trying to provide all mandatory training.

We organise everything

While on secondment, the apprentice is required to complete a weekly timesheet. Once authorised by the Host Company supervisor, the timesheet is faxed to ETCo and used to calculate the apprentice's wages. The Host Company is then invoiced for the apprentice's actual costs plus a small administration fee.

Liason with the Host Company

By hosting ETCo apprentices, the Host Company avoids a four year apprenticeship contract.

Companies can have an ETCo apprentice during busy periods without being bound during quieter times.

ETCo Training Co-ordinators are in constant communication with Hosts ensuring apprentices are meeting standards and that appropriate training is being provided.
