Dalton Kahotea

With his grandfather an electrician, Dalton has always been keen in electrical things. January 2006 he began his apprenticeship with ETCO and host company - Positive Electrical. Pre wire and fit off of new homes, security systems and general commercial work. Dalton is 20, plays rugby and cricket, enjoys darts, fishing, tramping and is also heavily involved with Scouts New Zealand.

Darryl Ferencz

Darryl began his apprenticeship in April 2006, and has spent most of his time with one host company - Ryan Electrical. He has experience in domestic, commercial installation and maintenance, and also wiring of equipment at exhibition shows. In his spare time Darryl particularly enjoys outdoor activities, which include yacht racing, snow-boarding, spear fishing, and free diving. Darryl is 24.

Michael Russell

Michael has been employed by ETCO since January 2006 and has been hosted by H&Js Electrical in Invercargill since he started. Michael has been involved mainly in Domestic and Commercial installation and maintenance work in that time. He has passed his Theory and Regs exams and is currently awaiting electrical registration. Michael is 20, lives in Invercargill and was a finalist in 2008.

Nicholas Mullins

Nicholas started with MB Electrical Ltd in May 2006. Prior to commencing his apprenticeship Nicholas was employed by Riviera Yachts in Australia, wiring super yachts. In his current role on any given day he can be found wiring a house, school, factory, fixing a hot water cylinder, or completing a large mains job. He keeps himself busy by playing indoor sports or touch rugby. Nicholas is the oldest at 28 years, and is a second year finalist.

Jason Armstrong

Jason began his apprenticeship with Plunket Electrical Oamaru Ltd in February 2007. Jason is 20 years old and has experience in domestic/ commercial wiring, operation of plant equipment in dairy sheds, he has also been involved in contract jobs and general fault finding of installations and equipment. Jason hobbies include snowboarding, fishing and socializing with friends and family.

Liam Clark

Liam is 21 and began with ETCO in October 2005. Don Gilbertson Ltd has been his predominate host (apart from a stint honing his skills with Laser Electrical Wanganui) gaining experience in various domestic, commercial and light industrial jobs Liam has juggled his apprenticeship with building his new home and helping his partner raise their two young children. Liam enjoys getting out in the outdoors hunting, fishing and in particular diving.
