ECANZ Challenge Final 2009

The top six domestic/commercial and the top six industrial electrical apprentices have been identified, from 98 competitors across the country. The National finals take place in Christchurch at Addington Showgrounds from Wednesday the 15th - Friday the 17th of July with day two of the Challenge coinciding with the ECANZ Canterbury and Westland branch Electrical Trade Show, and promises to be another successful combination of future industry leaders with the latest products and services.

The twelve finalists this year come from as far south as Invercargill right up to Whangarei, with a few in between.

Come along and see the apprentices in action, we are confident that you will be impressed by these fine examples of high quality training. Entry to both the competition and New Zealand’s largest trade show is free, so it’s definitely worth a visit.

The Challenge dinner is being held at the Christchurch Art Gallery on Friday night the 17th of July, the guest speaker this year is Mark Inglis - mountaineer, scientist, businessman and winemaker. So if you are around, and would like a great night out then contact National Office for tickets. Hope to see you there.

The Venue

This year’s National competition will be held at the Addington Events Centre in Christchurch. Day two of the competition coincides with the Annual Electrical Trade Fair which is hosted by ECANZ Canterbury and Westland Branch. Last year the trade fair attracted over 1000 visitors throughout the day, so be prepared for lots of people coming through to view you and your project. The competition itself will be held in the Gallery, Twiggers Stand, there is plenty of free parking on site.

Awards Dinner

The Awards Dinner is being held at the Christchurch Art Gallery, which promises to be a fantastic venue, so along with the awards presentation and fine food and beverage, a great night should be had by all.
